Timeline of Excellence

1973

Founded as Sunbury Centrals

Sunbury Centrals Cricket Club is established, laying the foundation for what would become a cornerstone of cricket in the Gisborne District. A small group of passionate cricket enthusiasts come together with a vision to build something meaningful.

1982

Renamed to Sunbury United

The club undergoes a transformative rebrand, adopting the name Sunbury United Cricket Club. Our iconic bee/wasp mascot and gold and black colors are introduced, becoming symbols of our identity and competitive spirit.

1990s

Multiple Premierships Won

The club enters a golden era of success, claiming multiple premierships across various grades. Our players establish themselves as forces to be reckoned with in the district competition, garnering respect from opponents and fans alike.

2000s

Junior Program Expansion

Recognizing the need to develop young talent, Sunbury United launches a comprehensive junior cricket program. Participation from ages 6 to 18 skyrockets, establishing pathways for future club legends and strengthening our community roots.

2010s

Club Facility Upgrades

Major infrastructure investments transform our facilities. Upgraded grounds, modern training equipment, and improved amenities position Sunbury United as a premier destination for cricketers of all ages and abilities.

2023

50th Anniversary Celebration

Sunbury United commemorates five decades of excellence with jubilee celebrations recognizing our life members, honoring our legacy, and renewing our commitment to excellence for the next 50 years. The milestone reinforces our position as a pillar of Victorian cricket.
